Some Famous Temples in Jaipur:

Galtaji : Galtaji is a holy pilgrimage of India, located 10 kms away from Jaipur in Rajasthan. The vast complex of Galta Ji has several temples in it. The Temple of Galtaji is famous for its natural water springs. Set amidst the beautiful landscape, Galtaji Temple offers a picturesque view of the city.

Birla Temple :
Birla Temple, JaipurBirla Temple forms one of the major attractions of Jaipur. Birla Temple of Jaipur looks stunning, when it is brightly lit in the night. Birla Mandir, in pure white marble, dominates the skyline of southern part of Jaipur. The enormous temple was built during the year 1988, by Birla Group of Industries, one of the business tycoons of India. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Narayan), the preserver and his consort Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth. Due to this reason, Birla Temple is also known as Laxmi Narayan Temple.

Govind Dev Ji Temple : Govind Dev Ji Temple is one amongst the major tourist attractions of Jaipur. The Temple represents the royal past of Jaipur. The Temple is dedicated to Govind Dev Ji (Other name of Lord Krishna). Govind Devji Temple of Jaipur is situated in the City Palace complex, between the Chandra Mahal and Badal Mahal.

Moti Dungri : Moti Dungri is a small hill, centrally located in the city of Jaipur. The term Moti Dungri means Hill of Pearls or Pearl Hill. The hill is occupied by a palace and a temple. The temple of Moti Doongri is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. This ancient temple serves as a tourist attraction for the scenic view it offers.

Jagat Shiromani Temple : The beautifully carved Jagat Shiromani Temple houses the idol of Lord Krishna and is popularly associated with the celebrated saint-poetess Mira Bai. The old temple of Narsinghji and a step well Panna Main-ki-Baodi, which still bears witness to its past glory are also located in the vicinity.

The Kalki Temple : The only one dedicated to the incarnation of God not yet born, Raja Sawai Jai Singh, the founder of Jaipur built this temple in 1727. Hindu mythology prophesizes the birth of the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who will come riding a white horse with a shining sword in his hand as Lord Kalki to deliver the mankind from the prevailing chaos and confusion of Kal Yug. A keen student of Vedic texts, Jai Singh built the Kalki temple right opposite the eastern entrance to the City Palace.

Jain Temple : The exquisite jain temple on the Agra road has some of the most beautiful 19th century paintings in Jaipur style on its walls.

The forts in Jaipur can truly be called epitomes of the heroic spirit of Rajput warriors. A visit to the majestic forts of Jaipur reminds one of the glorious history of the bygone royal era. These forts indeed seem to speak tales of the remarkable valor of Rajputanas and transport you to the world of chivalry and heroism.

Jaipur is home to the three striking forts of Amer, Jaigarh and Nahargarh that have gained wide acclaim from all over the world. These forts hold special significance in the history of Jaipur and are definitely a must visit. Among all the three imposing forts of Jaipur, Amer Fort is the most famous. The former capital of the Kacchawaha clan of Rajputs before Jaipur was established, Amer is situated at a hilltop about 11 km from Jaipur city. The exciting elephant ride up to the fort is a major crowd puller. The major attraction is the awe-inspiring Sheesh Mahal which has thousands of mirrors embedded in its walls and ceiling and makes for a spectacular sight at the Amer Fort in Jaipur.

Jaigarh Fort is perhaps the largest and the highest among all the three forts of Jaipur. Perched at a height of nearly 650 feet above the ground from where one can take breathtaking views of the entire Jaipur city below. The major attraction at Jaigarh Fort is the world's largest cannon 'Jaivana' that is perhaps the only of its kind. Weighing about 50 tons, it truly reflects the genius of the rulers of the period. Nahargarh or 'Victory Fort', as it is popularly known, stands at a height of 350 feet and is another masterpiece of architecture. The 9 palaces within the fort built by Sawai Madho Singh II for his wives are a must see. The delicate frescoes and carvings at the palaces remind of the remarkable architecture of the period.

Amber Fort:

Amber Fort is located in Amber (Jaipur), which used to be the capital of the Kachhwaha clan, till Jaipur was made the official capital in 1727. The Amber Fort looks stunning, all-built in white marble and red sandstone. To add to its charm, Maotha Lake makes its foreground.

Jaigarh Fort:

Jaigarh Fort is located on the top of the hill, by the name of Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles). Jaigarh Fort is also known as the 'Victory Fort', located at a comfortable distance of 15kms from Jaipur. Jaigarh Fort is considered as one of the spectacular forts in India.

Nahargarh Fort:

Nahargarh Fort is the first of the three forts built by Maharaja Jai Sawai Singh of Jaipur. The Fort stands at the top of rugged point of the Aravalis and offers a spectacular view of the City. Keeping this fact in mind, the fort was made to serve as a means of supporting the security of Amer.

City Palace:

City Palace forms one of the most famous tourist attractions and a major landmark in Jaipur. The beautiful palace was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during his reign. Among the various forts and palaces of Jaipur, City Palace stands apart, with its outstanding art and architecture. City Palace complex covers a huge area, which is divided into a series of gardens, courtyards and buildings. Initially, Raja Jai Singh built the outer wall occupying a huge area. The additional grand buildings were constructed later by the succeeding rulers.

Gaitore:

Gaitore is situated on the Jaipur-Amber road, about 15 kms from Jaipur. Gaitore is a royal cremation site of the majestic rulers of Jaipur. There is a cenotaph for each Maharaja, built in his honor. These royal cenotaphs of the Maharajas are commonly known as 'Chhatris'.

Hawa Mahal:

Hawa Mahal is a major landmark and a famous tourist attraction of Jaipur. The Palace offers a beautiful sight to behold. The splendid Rajputana architecture of Hawa Mahal, still speaks the glory of the royal family. However, one can also find a glimpse of Mughal architecture,
