The Prince of Wales, Prince Albert, kept the foundation stone of the hall on February 6, 1876. The name Albert was given to the hall in the name of the Prince who kept the foundation stone of the place.

Another section of the museum has articles of blue pottery, ivory, marble and meenakari (enamel work on metal).
